It's time to report our numbers again.
I'm reaching out today with just two days until our next Texas Ethics Commission filing deadline to ask if you'll chip in your first $3 donation to elect Beto as Texas' next Governor.
You might remember we just had our first filing deadline last month, but with Thursday marking 30 days until the March 1 primary election, it's time to report our numbers again.
I want to level with you about our fundraising. No one — not me, Nick, or Beto, doubts that this people-powered team has what it takes to raise millions of dollars. We've proved it again and again — without taking a cent from corporate PACs.
But we're up against Greg Abbott who just announced he raised $18.9 million in the second half of 2021 and has over $65 million in the bank. If we don't hit our goal of 25,000 online grassroots contributions by Thursday, we risk being heavily outspent. With Abbott already up on TV across Texas, the only way forward for this campaign is to run a people-powered effort like we've never seen before.
Can Beto count on you to be one of the supporters we need from your area to step up and chip in? Make a $3 contribution now to help us hit our 25,000 grassroots donations goal before Thursday so that we have the resources to compete with Abbott's mega-donors.
Contribute $3
From the beginning, Beto said this campaign would be about ALL of the people of this state. That's why Beto's spending his time traveling across Texas and meeting folks — not groveling for corporate checks.
When our campaign succeeds and we defeat Abbott, it'll be because of people like you who decided to click on emails like these, chip in $3, and make it happen.
Thank you for being a part of this,
Jason Lee
Deputy Campaign Manager, Beto for Texas
