| Hi Cynthia, it's Carole King. I hope you and everyone you love are well.
In 2009, Mitch McConnell said his number-one priority was to make Barack Obama a one-term president. Then, in 2021, he said "100%" of his focus was on stopping President Biden.
So, the Republican leader's been very clear: His number-one priority is NOT to help the American people.
Will you join me in supporting Democratic Senate candidates in 2022 whose priority IS to help the American people?
Thankfully, Mitch didn't achieve his number-one priority in 2009. But this year, he and Senate Republicans continue to obstruct legislation proposed by Democrats that would improve people's lives.
Refusing to work with Democrats is all part of their strategy. Republicans want to campaign on a claim that Democrats couldn't get anything done, but that claim is ENTIRELY FALSE!
In 2021 Democrats delivered:
Millions of good-paying jobs Super-charged vaccine distribution Lower taxes for the middle class Higher wages and incomes
Cynthia, when Republicans say, "We need change. Give US the majority!" our response must be strong, in unison:
The change we need is MORE Democrats!
Will you join me in helping Democrats EXPAND their Senate majority in 2022?
MORE Democrats will allow us to pass essential legislation. MORE Democrats will protect voting rights for all Americans. MORE Democrats will give us enduring legislation to protect women's health—and so much more!
We cannot reward Republicans' hypocrisy, threats, and disdain for civil discourse by electing or re-electing them.
An expanded Democratic Senate majority will send a message to Republicans whose behavior is so far over the line that it's in another galaxy. That conduct is unacceptable.
Democrats have long been allies of hardworking, decent Americans in the fight for truth, transparency, and good faith solutions to the problems that keep families up at night.
Will you join me in helping elect an expanded Democratic Senate majority in 2022?
Cynthia, this is a pivotal time in American history. So many families are feeling uncertain about the next day, let alone the future. But there are some things you can do to make it better.
Donate whatever you can afford to Democrats. Protest peacefully if you have the time. And do not let anyone keep you from voting. Your donation, your vote, and your participation in even the smallest of ways could make all the difference.
With gratitude and best wishes to you and your family, - Carole Carole King is a singer-songwriter, author, and activist.
