Dear Pamela, Only a few days remain before the EPA stops taking public comment on whether to return to Clean Car standards -- helping us all save on fuel and maintenance costs, while significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions that damage our climate. We have until July 6 to flood the EPA with comments in support. And we need a strong public showing, because we know powerful industry groups are standing in the way. Will you join thousands of others in telling the EPA to support strong Clean Car standards? Signing this petition will show we want cars and trucks that will save us money on gas -- and deliver cleaner air! The previous administration blocked states from implementing Clean Car standards, and some of the largest automakers backed them up. But Americans fought back: More than 75,000 consumers signed petitions to pressure major automakers to drop their opposition. It worked! We got General Motors and Toyota to back down. Now, we need the EPA to take universal action to deliver cleaner transportation, but powerful industry interest groups are still fighting back. Will you take a moment to sign our petition calling for strong rules that would cut emissions 60 percent by 2030, and save consumers $1.6 trillion in fuel and maintenance costs. With only days left before the public comment period closes, we need the EPA to hear from real people, not industry lobbyists. Tell the EPA: We want vehicles that save money on gas and cut pollution. After you're done sending your message, please forward this email to friends and family to encourage them to send a message as well. The more of us raising our voices, the better our chances to get the clean cars we need. Thanks for all you do, Erika Piquero Consumer Reports |
