ADD YOUR NAME: don't let election deniers shut down our government >>
Pamela, we're less than two weeks from a potential government shutdown – but instead of working to keep our government open, Speaker Mike Johnson is exploiting this can't-miss deadline to force through his election-denying, vote-suppressing agenda! [1]
The Speaker is caving to a radical group of lawmakers who've demanded an extreme new law meant to deter newly naturalized citizens from voting and make it harder for ALL eligible voters to cast a ballot – and they're trying to hold our entire government hostage to pass it.
Pamela, let's be clear: missing this funding deadline means delayed air travel and healthcare, threats to our environment and safety, and furloughs for millions of federal workers without pay. [2] We simply cannot allow this to happen.
Speaker Johnson is forcing a vote on this radical proposal today – join us to demand our lawmakers REJECT this dangerous effort >>
Let's be clear – election deniers in Congress are pushing a solution in search of a problem. It's already 100% illegal for non-citizens to vote in federal elections – but the hurdles and red tape in their so-called "SAVE Act" would potentially prevent millions of eligible citizens from registering and voting.
That's all the proof you need that these politicians don't really care about the integrity of our elections – but instead are doing this to get media attention, raise money, and flatter former President Trump and his lies about the 2020 election that he lost.
But Pamela, threatening to shut down our government for such self-interested reasons is the precise opposite of what our elected officials – who are meant to serve in the public's interest – should be doing.
We need to call them out – loudly and clearly – and CONDEMN this political ploy to shut down our government to satisfy election deniers. Will you add your name today?
Thanks for all you do,
