Indivisibles,

Alright, let's cut right to the chase: With just 42 days until the election, we've hit a point where every single thing we do, or don't do, will echo far into the future.

The big news over the past few days? The GOP candidate for governor in North Carolina is back in the headlines for spewing some horrific stuff online (we… won't get into where online). Stuff like calling himself a "Black Nazi," spouting anti-trans hatred, and wishing he could own slaves.

The kicker: Trump called this man "Martin Luther King Jr. on steroids." He praised him as one of the greatest leaders in America.

It's a good reminder of the types of extremists and chaos-agents Trump surrounds himself with and looks up to (this isn't even the first self-proclaimed Nazi Trump has praised!). The types of people Trump would have in his ear if he wins a second term.

Yet, somehow, the latest polling shows the presidential race is essentially tied. Damaging stories like this barely move the needle. Historic debate shellackings like we all enjoyed earlier this month barely move the needle. Chances are, polling will show it neck and neck until the end.

Does that mean nothing matters? Quite the opposite -- every little thing matters because this election will be decided by fractions of percentage points.

So what do we do? We mobilize. We talk to our neighbors, we volunteer, we canvass, and most importantly, we vote like our future depends on it -- because it does. Each one of us has a part to play in the story of how we saved our democracy from the Trumps and Robinsons of this world. Let's make sure it's a story worth telling.

Let's get to work. Ready to jump in right now? Check out our new election HQ to find local actions near you.

With that, here are your weekly to-dos:

 Your 5 weekly to-dos

  1. Register for our national phonebank into AZ-06 and CA-27 on Tuesday, September 24 at 7pm ET/4pm PT. These two races could decide the fate of the House this election cycle. Let's capitalize on the momentum for VP Harris, and make sure we elect a Congress that can enact her agenda when she's sworn in.
  2. Speaking of North Carolina, register now for our NC phonebanking session on Tuesday, October 1 at 5:30pm ET/2:30pm PT. We'll be calling voters to make sure they're ready to show up and show out for Kamala and Tim in a critical swing state.
  3. Join us alongside partner Vote Forward for a virtual letter-writing party on Thursday, October 3 at 7pm ET/4pm PT. We're writing letters to voters in key House districts as part of The Big Send -- a collective effort to send 10 million letters to voters this year. There will be ASL interpretation available on this call.
  4. If you're eligible, sign up for Neighbor2Neighbor. Neighbor to neighbor is not just a tool, it's our not-so-secret weapon of empathy and reason, personalizing the political and establishing bonds amid the never-ending barrage of ads and flyers. It's simple. It's quick. And, it's a fun way to meet some of your neighbors who you have something in common with -- a pro-democracy future.
  5. Check out our Donald Did This resource. Roe v. Wade didn't just fall on its own, it took years of political maneuvering and explicit court-packing by Donald Trump to make it happen -- and he's not done. Check out this resource for a detailed breakdown of how we got here, what's at stake this election, social media resources to bring attention to Trump's responsibility for this, and action items to make sure he never has the opportunity to finish his plans.

P.S. Now's the time when we need to make big investments in battleground districts and target states. If you're able, pitch in today to help fund our electoral work and support the grassroots organizing that could decide this year's election.

Preventing another January 6th

Register for our National Call featuring Rep. Jamie Raskin, our own Ezra Levin, and the creators of The Sixth on Tuesday, October 8 at 8pm ET/5pm PT. We're opening up our final Majority Over MAGA Action Team call to the full network because we think this is a panel you won't want to miss. January 6th was a modern tragedy and a dire warning of just how far MAGA will go to take over our democracy. Hear from Rep. Jamie Raskin -- who was in the Capitol during the attempted insurrection -- alongside Ezra Levin and The Sixth documentary filmmakers Andrea Nix Fine and Sean Fine about the legacy of that fateful day and what we need to do now to defeat MAGA and make sure nothing close to it happens again.

Announcing Indivisible's Endorsement of Ashley Ehasz!

Indivisible endorses Ashley Ehasz for Pennsylvania 01!

Indivisible is fired up to endorse Ashley Ehasz! She's forged in adversity, battle-tested as an Army Apache pilot, and now she's our champion for Pennsylvania's First Congressional District. With her at the helm, we're taking the fight for democracy and social justice straight to the halls of power. Ashley's story is one we can all admire -- from scraping by to West Point grad to public servant, she embodies the resilience and relentless spirit we need in the trenches fighting for us.

This is going to be a close, hard-fought election. But Indivisibles in Pennsylvania have made it clear that they are overwhelmingly in support of Ashley. They're going to be on the ground, fighting for her like she's fought for the people of her district and state.

CHIP IN: You can support the grassroots activists fighting to elect Ashley and other inspiring, progressive leaders across the country by donating here.

Demand Your Members of Congress Call For A Ceasefire

**Content Warning: Talk about the current humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Jump to the line break if you need to avoid this topic.**

Over the weekend, Israeli media reported that PM Netanyahu is considering a plan that would deploy "siege tactics" on northern Gaza. The plan reportedly would involve a large-scale evacuation of Palestinian civilians in the north, including the densely populated Gaza City. While Netanyahu has not publicly committed to this plan, it is "under consideration" and has support by some members of the Israeli parliament. Clearly, this would be a step in the wrong direction -- and a step farther away from a ceasefire agreement that ends the war and returns all hostages to their loved ones.

Currently, the majority of Gaza's population has already been displaced by Israeli military operations and bombings. Humanitarian access to northern Gaza is severely limited, causing shortages of food, clean water, medical supplies, and other basics for civilians running and sheltering from the conflict. Further invasions, evacuations, or sieges would undoubtedly result in further catastrophic loss of Palestinian civilian life.

It's not clear if Netanyahu will go through with this plan in northern Gaza. But it is clear that the reality on the ground right now is causing devastating civilian casualties and making everyone -- Israelis, Palestinians, and everyone in the region -- less safe. The United States must use every ounce of leverage, including withholding offensive weapons, to finalize a ceasefire agreement and save lives.
