When our Founders came together 237 years ago today to sign the Constitution, it included a once-per-decade census:

"The actual Enumeration shall be made… within every subsequent Term of ten Years, in such Manner as they shall by Law direct."

Fair maps depend on a fair count, so as part of our mission to build a truly representative democracy, we work to defend the integrity of the census process. And it is fitting that this 237th Constitution Day coincides with National Voter Registration Day — a holiday to make sure voters are ready to make their voices heard at the ballot box.
