| Tell Congress: We urge you to set Supreme Court term limits by passing the TERM Act. Regularizing Supreme Court appointments every two years will ensure a Supreme Court that is more representative of the nation, reflecting the choices of recently elected Presidents and Senators. Term limits for Supreme Court justices are an essential tool to restoring a constitutional balance to the three branches of the federal government. | Imagine what the Supreme Court would be like without extreme right-wing corrupt justices like Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito. Congress can make it a reality if they pass SCOTUS term limits. The TERM Act would limit justices to eighteen-year terms on SCOTUS. Thomas has served well over eighteen years, and Alito is right at the mark. This legislation doesn't just come with term limits, it allows presidents to appoint justices every two years, so the Court better reflects public opinion. It would be harder for the right-wing to take over the Court for decades, threaten democracy, further threaten abortion rights, and give massive powers to corporations. Congress has a responsibility to ensure the Court is responsive to the people, not right-wing mega-donors and corporate executives. Sign the petition: Urge Congress to pass term limits for the Supreme Court. SCOTUS rulings led by conservative justices over the last few decades threaten our rights, freedoms, and safety. The recent rulings in the Trump immunity case and Chevron bring that reality into sharper focus. If term limits were in place, Thomas and Alito likely would have been OFF the Court before they helped the right-wing majority decide these recent cases that threaten democracy and boost corporate power. And while the Supreme Court is supposed to be fair and independent, corruption scandals involving Thomas, Alito, Roberts, and the other conservatives have rocked SCOTUS. Public confidence in the Court is at an all time low. The TERM Act is a critical reform to overhaul SCOTUS! Add your name: Supreme Court term limits now! |
