President Biden and Vice President Harris have endorsed major Supreme Court reforms to rein in the power of right-wing justices like Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito.

President Biden and Vice President Harris have endorsed major Supreme Court reforms to rein in the power of right-wing justices like Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito. The policies include a SCOTUS ethics act and term limits for the Supreme Court. Biden wrote in the Washington Post that, "What is happening now is not normal, and it undermines the public's confidence in the court's decisions." He's right it's not normal in a democracy to grant presidents "absolute immunity." It's time for Congress to use its power to counter the extremism of the Supreme Court. It's also not normal to hand over massive powers to corporations while hobbling regulatory powers. It's not normal to overturn Roe v. Wade and take away reproductive freedoms from Americans. And it shouldn't be normal to have a Court so out of line from the views of the vast majority of voters. If term limits were in place, Thomas and Alito likely would have been OFF the Court before they helped the right-wing majority decide recent cases that threaten democracy and boost corporate power. If a SCOTUS ethics act were in place, Thomas and Alito could have been barred from ruling on the Trump immunity case due to conflicts of interest. They, and the other right-wing justices on the Court, could be held accountable for their long list of corruption scandals. Majorities in Congress must join the calls from Pres.
