At MoveOn, as you know, we are serious about the "save our democracy" part of that sentence. Because it has become clearer by the day that if we don't get the election of 2022 right, 2024 may become unwinnable.
If we lose this November, Donald Trump will have in place what he needs to launch a full-scale attack on our democracy. From secretary of state races to the U.S. Senate, Trump and his allies are spending hundreds of millions of dollars to ensure they have the soldiers they need, where they need them, to put him back in the White House in 2024.
By vote … or by coup.
But we still have the power to fight back. It's why we absolutely must raise $1 million by November 1. For two years, we have been planning and executing our plan to turn out surge voters—young people and voters of color who voted for the first time in 2018 or 2020. But the most important part of any get-out-the-vote plan is the final two weeks.
The final is where the calls are made, the texts are sent, the ads are posted, and the rallies get real. The final week is also where the donations must come in to make that happen. That's why we're asking you to make that $3 donation today.
Yes, I will chip in $3 to help us hit $1 million by midnight tonight.
We know we won't get every single person reading this email to respond. Some of our members are having trouble paying the rent. Others have health care costs they can't afford. Other members are simply trying to keep food on the table for their families.
But that is who we are fighting for. Americans who are struggling. And it is why we hope you will dig deep and make that $3 donation today.
