Last week, we made our first TV ad buy of the campaign with reservations in major markets across Texas.
Funded by grassroots donations and backed by more than 80,000 volunteers, the ads will hold Greg Abbott accountable for failing the people of Texas with his extreme agenda.
Here's why this is so important: at every town hall and rally we're hosting across Texas, we're seeing voters of every background — including lifelong Republicans and people who voted for Trump in 2020 — choose Beto's positive, unifying vision once they see it compared to Abbott's extremism.
Our new TV ads will make the choice in this race clear to millions of additional Texans.
But getting this ad in front of voters is expensive. It costs roughly $1,485,000 to go live in the top four major TV markets in Texas for a week.
Greg Abbott has already spent over $8 million on general election ads, so we are asking our grassroots supporters: can you chip in $3 or even $6 to help us reach our ambitious goal of $1,485,000 to spread our message and defeat Greg Abbott?
This people-powered campaign's TV ads will begin running at a moment when Abbott's job approval is underwater, his support among Independents has plummeted 13 points since the spring and nearly 60% of voters say the state is going in the wrong direction under his failed leadership.
But there are millions more voters who still need to hear about Greg Abbott's cruelty, incompetence, and extremism. He signed the nation's most extreme abortion bill into law with no exception for rape or incest, and has done absolutely nothing to stop the next school shooting after six major mass shootings on his watch.
We know that once our ads air across Texas, our people-powered campaign will grow, and we will have what it takes to win in November. But we need your help.
