You're invited: National organizing meeting on abortion and the election

Join MoveOn this Sunday, June 26, to join the plan to turn this outrage into electoral power.

Dear MoveOn member,

Share your anger. Protest in the streets. Care for your community. Support abortion providers.

And then let's put abortion rights front and center in this year's elections, defeat the extreme right-wing MAGA Republicans who have executed their decades-long plan to assault our health care and autonomy, and elect a Democratic majority big enough and committed enough to codify Roe into law.

Now, get involved in the plan to do just that—by joining us this Sunday, June 26, at 7 p.m. ET (6 CT/5 MT/4 PT) for an Emergency National Organizing Meeting with MoveOn's leaders, Democratic champions, and movement allies on how we channel this outrage into electoral power.

The National Call on Abortion and the Election

This decision over abortion rights doesn't end with the Republican-packed Supreme Court. Congress could pass a law restoring abortion rights—Democrats in the House have already passed it and Republicans in the Senate blocked it. The Senate could and should act immediately. Its failure to act—due to Republican obstruction and the regressive filibuster—is why we need stronger, more progressive Democratic majority that can codify our reproductive freedom for the sake of our health care and autonomy.

The choice is between expanding the Democratic majority so they can finish the job to ensure our rights, or further empowering the Trump Republicans who are already plotting to rig the presidential election in 2024 and overturn the will of the people.

We can expand the Senate majority and hold the House this November—but not if we step back and let the MAGA Republicans win. Their overreach—on stripping away abortion rights, putting guns over the safety of our children and our communities, denying climate change, attacking LGBTQ+ youth, defending the violent coup at the Capitol—can now work against them if we can take steps to inspire more voters to turn out to hold accountable these vile and violent right-wing extremists.

We need Congress and state governments to act in this moment. We need to support abortion providers and those seeking abortions. We need to hold corporations accountable to cut ties with these extremists to take away their power.

And we need to win in November. Join fellow MoveOn members on Sunday to learn more about the impact of this ruling and how we're going to fight back, organize, and win in November.

RSVP for the Sunday evening's emergency national organizing meeting now.

Thanks for all you do.

P.S. Can't join us on Sunday? Make sure to take the pledge now to defeat Republicans this November—join hundreds of thousands of fellow MoveOn members in this pledge and we'll send you a sticker proclaiming, "Our bodies. Our freedom."

P.P.S. Need a little inspiration? Here are MoveOn members calling on us all to "Overturn the GOP" instead of overturning Roe. Join us Sunday to find out how you can help make that a reality this November.

Want to support MoveOn's work? Donald Trump's preparations for being able to steal the presidency in 2024 are well underway and include working to replace top election officials in battleground states with his own loyalists. Which is why MoveOn is doing something we've never done in our 23-year history: We're launching a powerful, multimillion-dollar effort to defeat Trump-backed secretaries of state across the country and elect individuals who will count every vote and ensure fair elections.

Yes, I'll chip in $5 a month.
