Dear MoveOn member, 

The Supreme Court has overturned Roe v. Wade.¹

Within moments of the decision being released, Missouri became the first state to activate its trigger law, banning abortion in the state with no exceptions for rape or incest.² Less than one week since the decision, 12 states have banned abortion.³ And in the coming days and weeks, Republican lawmakers in at least a dozen other states will rush to further ban and criminalize abortion.⁴

To fight back, we are announcing a massive campaign to defeat the GOP this November. Together, we are asking 1 million MoveOn members to pledge to vote out Republicans and fight for abortion rights this November.

Andra, state politicians—largely cisgender white Republican men—intend to force us to give birth against our will.

When we have been sexually assaulted.

When the fetus has a fatal abnormality.

When having a child will kill us.

When we are in school.

When we cannot afford a child.

When our partner is abusive.

When we do not have the support to nurture a child.

When we are not ready.

When we are pursuing our dreams.

When we do not want a child.

It is gut-wrenching and terrifying. But we cannot allow this unthinkable loss of freedom to lead us to cynicism and inaction.

No, no, no. That's why we are fighting back by announcing a campaign to get 1 million MoveOn members to pledge to vote out Republicans this November.
