Every time I learn that yet another mass shooting has shaken our nation, I mourn. And every time, I get angrier and angrier that Mitch McConnell still REFUSES to act on any meaningful legislation.
In February, House Democrats came together and passed a bipartisan background check bill. It was a critical and important step forward, but Mitch McConnell is still refusing to so much as give the bill a vote in the Senate.
Once again, McConnell is cowering in fear before the NRA and doing nothing while Democrats propose sensible, substantive ways to protect our communities. And in the case of background checks -- a policy that over 90% of Americans agree with.
I am relying on your voice to stand up to Republicans and help create the change our country so desperately needs to make our communities safer.
