First of all, I'd like to say thank you for being a part of this campaign. It's because of you that we are in a strong position to win.
I'd also like to ask you to make a donation today. This is important. There are two reasons I am making this ask at this moment:
- We are currently halfway to our next FEC fundraising deadline, and we are about 20 percent of the way to meeting our goal. So we need to close the gap.
- While other candidates in this race can rely on max-out checks from millionaires and billionaires, we do not. That's not how we're funding this campaign. In fact, our average donation so far this month is around $16.
So there's only one way we can keep up with our opponents, and that's from lots of people chipping in small amounts at a time.
We've set a goal of reaching 20,000 individual donations before tonight at midnight, and we're not quite there yet. So I need to ask:
Once we report our numbers for the quarter, it's not simply about how much money we raise. It's about the number of individual donations powering our movement across the country.
Bernie is very proud of how we're funding this effort. I hope you are too.
