Pamela: A dangerous wave of Israeli settler violence is tearing through the West Bank, with roving gangs rampaging through Palestinian villages, beating residents, torching homes and a mosque, and even assaulting Israeli security forces who arrive to restore order.[1]
Five Americans have been killed in the West Bank in just the past two years, including most recently Sayfollah "Saif" Musallet, a 20-year-old from Florida who was visiting family when violent settlers beat him and stopped an ambulance from reaching him.
Up until this year, an Executive Order helped prevent violence in the West Bank by sanctioning some of the settlers and organizations that were fueling it. But Trump repealed it on his first day in office, allowing the perpetrators of the uptick in violence we're seeing today to act with impunity.
Now, Congress is mobilizing to enshrine these sanctions through the West Bank Violence Prevention Act (H.R.3045 / S.2667) — which just hit a critical milestone of 100 House cosponsors. With your help, we can flood lawmakers' inboxes with even more support and push this momentum further to help impose costs on violent settlers in the West Bank.

Amidst a cracking ceasefire in Gaza, attacks by settlers in the West Bank have only surged. Entire communities are being driven from their land under threat of beatings, shootings, arson, and intimidation. In October alone, the UN documented more than 260 settler attacks that resulted in Palestinian casualties or property destruction — the highest monthly count since monitoring began in 2006.[2]
Even internal members of the Israeli government are sounding the alarm, with senior officials warning that the most radical settlers are not only terrorizing Palestinian communities — they are destabilizing the state itself. In recent days, Israeli President Isaac Herzog went so far as to describe the violence as "shocking and serious" and said it "crosses a red line."[1]
Without immediate action, the growing sense of lawlessness and impunity will only deepen the violence. Fortunately, we're not powerless in this moment — the U.S. government has unmatched leverage to spare when it comes to saving lives, and we must push Congress to use it.
Momentum is surging in Congress around the West Bank Violence Prevention Act, which would require the U.S. government to identify violent settlers responsible for attacks in the West Bank — attacks that have killed U.S. citizens — and impose real consequences, including visa bans and financial restrictions.
No one is made safer if these horrors are allowed to continue. We refuse to look away, and with tens of thousands of activists flooding Congress with calls to action, we can ensure lawmakers don't look away either.
Thank you for working for peace,
