Pamela, Charles Booker here.
I wanted you to hear this from me first: I'm officially launching my campaign to represent Kentucky in the U.S. Senate.
The era of Mitch McConnell is over. Kentucky has the opportunity to turn a new page. We no longer have to accept that this is just the way things are. We can dream big.
Voters are tired of Democratic candidates who are pre-approved by rich donors and corporate interests looking for one more senator to serve them.
I am too. So this campaign is fighting for:
- Medicare for All and universal child care so that getting by isn't so damn hard.
- Housing you can live in and afford, without being crushed by utility bills.
- A fresh deal for working people: 40 for 40 — a minimum wage of $40,000 a year for everyone who puts in a 40-hour work week — a guarantee to live a life with dignity.
- Organizing for a general strike if these big money politicians keep crushing working families and refusing to make any meaningful change.
If you believe that this is the type of campaign Democrats should be running, add your name to help show broad support for our bold vision. In order to win, we're going to need to demonstrate widespread, public support for this campaign.
By banding together, we can dream big, demand better, and win.
We can finally turn a new page after decades of Mitch McConnell using his power to crush any sort of progress on the issues we care about.
We can write a new story where everyone has a chance to prosper.
But it's going to take all of us to defeat the greedy industries and politicians that try to steal our health and our wealth.
Voters across the country sent a loud message on Election Day this year that cannot be ignored: They want leaders who aren't afraid to put up a fight and will actually try to make life more affordable.
That's exactly what this campaign is going to do — and I need to know if you're on board with this type of campaign.
Add your name to show that you endorse a Democrat fighting for bold changes like Medicare for All, organizing a general strike, and affordable housing. Every signature will send a powerful message about our movement's strength.
Thank you,
Charles
