Dear MoveOn member,
This is Chelsea Handler. I'm joining with other celebrities to help Democrat and civil rights leader Reverend Raphael Warnock win the Georgia Senate runoff less than a week from today, because so much is at stake in this race. But we need your help to turn out every vote, and, to help entice you, we're going to make it spicy!
I'll get to that in a moment, but first I want to ask you to Chip In for Georgia and help support the amazing work grassroots groups like Poder Latinx, Asian American Advocacy Fund, Black Voters Matter Fund, and New South Super PAC are doing on the ground to get out the vote with the very communities whose votes could determine the outcome of the election!
Click here to chip in $3. 100% of your donation will go directly to these organizations.
Here's the spicy part: If we reach our goal of raising $100,000, we'll all get a very spicy reward. Some great entertainers and celebrities who are dedicated to helping Senator Warnock win will challenge themselves to try to eat the hottest chip on the planet on Thursday, December 1 at 9 p.m. ET at MoveOn.org/live. The celebrities include:
- W. Kamau Bell
- Tom Colichio of "Top Chef"
- Brian Cox of "Succession"
- Andy Daly
- Padma Lakshmi of "Top Chef"
- Busy Philipps
- Andy Richter
- Bradley Whitford of "The West Wing"
- And me!
If you aren't familiar with the One Chip Challenge, it's a viral internet challenge where participants try to eat a single tortilla chip made with one of the hottest peppers on the planet, the Carolina Reaper pepper. It's hundreds of times hotter than a jalapeño!
It's going to burn, but it won't hurt as bad as Herschel Walker's winning this runoff.
In the midterms earlier this month, we came together and defied history, stopped a red wave, defeated MAGA extremism again, and kept Democrats in the Senate majority. But our work together on this election isn't over, and the outcome in this runoff will help determine how effective Senate Democrats can be in the new Congress.
Georgians deserve a senator who will continue protecting their families, their freedoms, and their futures, and Rev. Warnock is that man. He is a voice of compassion, a voice for the voiceless, and a civil rights leader who grew up in public housing to become a pastor at the storied Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, carrying the torch of the 150-year fight for civil rights. We need to help keep him in the Senate fighting for ALL of us so we can breathe clean air, get the affordable health care we need, and decide whether and when we grow our families.
Thank you!
–Chelsea Handler
