Humanitarian aid in Afghanistan

If you are able, please rush an emergency, tax-deductible donation to Doctors Without Borders to support relief efforts in Afghanistan and Haiti.

Dear MoveOn member,

Medical facilities in Afghanistan are being pushed to the limit as the numbers of people killed and wounded by bullets and explosions has surged.

The United States' role in creating this crisis is indisputable, and we have a moral responsibility to swiftly evacuate vulnerable populations and extend safe refuge to the Afghan people. We also have an ethical obligation to ensure that Afghans have access to emergency medical care and other humanitarian aid during this dire human rights crisis.

And the crisis in Afghanistan is unfolding at the same time as a massive earthquake and hurricane have devastated Haiti and taken the lives of nearly 2,000 people.1

Which is why MoveOn is partnering with Doctors Without Borders to sustain and expand urgent medical services in both of these countries.

Will you rush an emergency, tax-deductible donation of $65 today to Doctors Without Borders to help save lives and treat patients in Afghanistan and Haiti? 100% of your donation will go directly to Doctors Without Borders.

Doctors Without Borders has been on the ground in Afghanistan and in Haiti for decades, providing direct assistance to people when they need it most.

In Afghanistan, last year alone, Doctors Without Borders saw 112,453 patients.2 But given the recent escalation in violence, along with the pandemic, more medical resources are needed.

And in Haiti, much of the infrastructure—including hospitals in the affected region—has been extensively damaged or destroyed, and some medical facilities have been forced to evacuate their patients. Other hospitals now lack the emergency medical equipment and medicine needed to treat the injured.

Doctors Without Borders is already operating five medical facilities in Haiti and is on the ground in the affected areas, responding to the emergency.3

But they need your help. Medical providers are in desperate need of additional medical equipment, essential items, and medical personnel. Will you rush a tax-deductible donation of $65 today to Doctors Without Borders to support the emergency efforts in Haiti and Afghanistan?

MoveOn members have always come together during times of crisis to support people in need of emergency aid.

Together, MoveOn members like you raised more than $3 million for relief efforts in Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria devastated the island. And after Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans and left tens of thousands of people displaced, MoveOn members opened the doors to their very own homes to provide shelter for families displaced by the hurricane.

MoveOn members often respond with powerful collective action in facing crises from Nepal to the U.S. Virgin Islands to Syria to our own border with Mexico.

Today, as we once more confront urgent crises across the globe, we need your support.

If you are able, please rush an emergency, tax-deductible donation to Doctors Without Borders to support relief efforts in Afghanistan and Haiti.

Thanks for all you do.
