BEFORE MIDNIGHT: I need 5O,OOO Democrats to sign my petition and demand Republicans PROTECT Social Security. >>
Today is the anniversary of Social Security. I can’t stop thinking of all the hard work President Obama put into helping our seniors and expanding Social Security. But President Obama’s mission stands in stark contrast to what I see today. I’ve watched Republicans slash Social Security to fund tax breaks for billionaires. I’ve watched Republicans vote to unfairly raise the age for Social Security coverage. I’ve even watched Republicans threaten to privatize our critical social safety net. The list goes on… and it breaks my heart. I refuse to stand by as Republicans chip away at President Obama’s legacy and our seniors’ livelihoods. We must take action and DEMAND Republicans end their attacks on our Social Security.
