Congress can’t go home for the holidays without stopping Trump’s warmongering

The House MUST reassert its constitutional war powers before the year ends.

Win Without War

Pamela, we're in an all-out race to pull Trump off the path to war:

In the latest act of aggression, the U.S. military seized an oil tanker off the coast of Venezuela, and the White House said it's preparing to seize more.[1] This comes amidst an illegal bombing campaign that has already killed 87 people over the course of 22 strikes across the Caribbean and Pacific — the grisly details of which reveal gross human rights violations, including extrajudicial killings.

What happens next will be crucial.

The thing is, Congress, NOT the president, gets to decide when the U.S. goes to war. Congress has the power to rein in a runaway president by passing a War Powers Resolution (WPR) — and, soon, your representative will have an opportunity to do just that.

A WPR vote is coming to a head in the House as soon as this week. Rep. Jim McGovern (D-MA) will make a push in the House to secure an urgently needed vote on his bipartisan WPR, and you can help. Before Congress breaks for the holidays, we'll flood every office on Capitol Hill with messages reminding lawmakers that no one wants another war.

We can make sure Speaker Johnson and Republican leadership don't concede their crucial powers over war and peace. Tell your Rep: Pass a War Powers Resolution before the year ends!

ACT NOW

While the Trump administration scrambles to address mounting questions over the grisly human rights violations committed by the U.S. military as part of its illegal bombing campaign, momentum is building across the country to halt this lawless violence and prevent war with Venezuela.

An overwhelming number of Americans across both parties oppose using military force in Venezuela.[2] WE are the majority — and when we make our voices heard, we can force change for good.

But don't take our word for it, just look at the Senate: After constituents like you held the lone Democrat, Sen. John Fetterman, accountable for voting against October's WPR, he reversed course to join 44 Democrats, two Independents, and two Republicans in voting 'YES' in November.

It's proof that our power is growing, and now we're taking that momentum to the House by making sure representatives don't go home for the holidays without reasserting their constitutional authority and taking the reins out of Trump's hands.

The most effective way to do that is by making sure lawmakers hear from constituents like you. Will you join the growing chorus calling for "NO WAR" by sending a message to your elected official today?

It's up to us, the people, to make sure representatives feel enough heat from constituents to pull us back from the brink of war. Click here to tell the House: Don't leave home for the holidays without passing a WPR!

Win Without War has been here before and won. With the help of tens of thousands of activists like you, we've stopped wars, and we'll do it this time too — but we need you with us again.

Our vision for a world where people live and thrive free from violence is still possible when people like us — people like you, Pamela — do all we can, in ways big and small, to make it happen.

Thank you for working for peace,
