Dear MoveOn member,
At a time of great loss and heartbreak, we want to share a bit of good news.
President Biden has just proposed two new rules, one that would ban corporations from charging hidden, bogus fees and another that would force sellers to disclose all mandatory costs up front.1
It's a win for working- and middle-class Americans and a historic move to stamp out "junk fees" so that consumers know up front what they're paying and why. When buying airline tickets and concert tickets or ordering takeout, we have a right to know how much we're paying and not be stuck with surprise fees at the end.
To celebrate this victory, MoveOn has printed a huge batch of these "F the Fees" stickers and is giving them out for FREE—while supplies last.
Just click here or on the image below to get your sticker.
In announcing the new rules, Biden said, "These junk fees may not matter to the wealthy, but they sure matter to working folks in homes like the one I grew up in."2
We couldn't agree more.
And if companies fail to comply with the proposed rules, the federal government will charge those companies financial penalties.
We are proud of the work that MoveOn members did to fight junk fees—more than 140,000 MoveOn members like you who signed a petition to break up Ticketmaster, one of the worst offenders when it comes to junk fees. Thousands of MoveOn members also sent in comments to help build momentum for these two proposed rules.
Now, let's come together to help ensure that the Biden administration finalizes them—and as quickly as possible.
In the meantime, celebrate this win by ordering your free "F the Fees" sticker today!
Thanks for all you do.
