Facebook's model of surveillance capitalism has already distorted our economy and our democracy―now they're planning to prey on the most vulnerable among us: Our children. BuzzFeed has reported: Facebook is planning to build a version of Instagram for kids under the age of 13. SIGN NOW: Tell Facebook - Don't build Instagram for Kids! Facebook's entire business strategy is to create a captive audience for its advertising network. It hires behavioral experts to design triggers with the specific goal of addiction to its platform. Unleashing this same strategy on children whose brains are still developing could do untold damage to their development. It must be stopped. SIGN NOW - Stop Instagram for Kids! Just today, 44 state Attorneys General released a joint letter urging Facebook to halt its plans to develop Instagram for Kids. They noted that "Facebook has historically failed to protect the welfare of children on its platforms. The attorneys general have an interest in protecting our youngest citizens, and Facebook's plans to create a platform where kids under the age of 13 are encouraged to share content online is contrary to that interest."
