| Tell Congress: "Create a Federal Clean Energy Standard and commit to clean energy by 2035." | Pamela, We need to rapidly decarbonize energy production if we're going to have a habitable Earth by the time I'm ready to retire. We've made some progress, but it's not going great. There are exciting developments―the plummeting cost of rooftop solar, beautiful electric cars, extremely ugly electric trucks (looking at you, CYBERTRUCK), and innovations in battery storage. But it's not going to happen on its own nearly fast enough. We need Clean Energy Standards, and accountability. Add your name: Tell Congress to enact a Federal Clean Energy Standard to get us to 100% carbon-free power by 2035! If we wait for the invisible hand of the market to motivate energy companies to clean up their acts, we're doomed. Standards sound boring, but they're powerful. They create a level playing field that will literally save humanity. And they're popular! Our friends at Data for Progress polled it, and found that ⅔ of voters support a Clean Energy Standard! SIGN NOW to tell Congress to enact a Federal Clean Energy Standard! This policy will work, and it will also create jobs and ensure justice is at the center of the energy transition. The Clean Electricity Standard will create millions of good-paying jobs, and it is a commitment to confronting systemic environmental injustice that primarily affects Black, brown, and Indigenous communities.
