Call now: Demand that the Senate delivers aid

We've made it this far: We got President Biden to put forth an ambitious COVID relief plan. We rallied the Democratic caucus in the House to pass it with nearly unanimous support.

President Biden's COVID relief package, the American Rescue Plan, is one of the most popular pieces of legislation in recent American history. 

And despite its incredible support among all Americans, across party lines, no House Republicans voted in favor of it. 

Now, we need to continue to build pressure: Can you call Sens. Benjamin Cardin and Chris Van Hollen at the number below and demand that they keep all of the pieces of the House version of the American Rescue Plan?

Don't let technology get in the way of making your voice heard. You can use this same number to contact both of your senators. 

Tens of millions of people have been suffering through the unprecedented COVID crisis, in desperate need of the basic necessities to live, such as food, shelter, and medication—and not a single House Republican voted to give them relief. In the middle of a deadly pandemic, with a relief plan on the table, Republicans are refusing to give Americans the help they need.

But luckily, the Democratic majority in the House voted in favor of the American Rescue Plan, and it passed last week. The House version of the bill is loaded with critical relief, including:

• $1,400 survival checks
• Expanded unemployment insurance
• A robust state and local aid package
• Vaccine distribution
• Funds to reopen schools safely
• Nutrition and food aid
• Rental assistance

This legislation will provide a critical lifeline for Americans in need of support. Now, it needs to be passed by the Senate, where there's a chance it might get watered down by some "moderate" Democrats. 

MoveOn members have been working hard to put pressure on Senate Democrats to fight back against these efforts. Together, we raised money to place an ad in one of Arizona Senator Kyrsten Sinema's hometown newspapers, urging that she deliver COVID aid for Arizonans and all Americans. MoveOn members also drove thousands of calls to members of Congress demanding that they protect all components of President Biden's relief plan, and tens of thousands of us have signed petitions calling for bold COVID relief.
