| Pamela, Postmaster General Louis DeJoy announced his plan for the Postal Service under the Biden administration, and it's not pretty: Remember: Louis DeJoy is a Republican megadonor who owned businesses that compete with the Postal Service. And since he took the job, DeJoy has slowed down mail, dismantled vital infrastructure, and provoked public outrage. How does Louis DeJoy still have a job?!? Here's the answer: DeJoy answers to the USPS Board of Governors, not the public. Biden can't fire him directly―but he does have the power to fire the Board "for cause." If tacit approval of DeJoy's malfeasance isn't "cause," I don't know what is. SIGN NOW: President Biden should fire the Postal Board of Governors and Postmaster DeJoy, and appoint some people who want the Post Office to work. This isn't a fringe idea. Congressman Bill Pascrell (D-NJ) has already pushed for it: | Bill Pascrell, Jr. @BillPascrell | | | Today I am calling on President Biden to fire the entire Postal Board of Governors for their silence and complicity in trump and dejoy's attempts to subvert the election and destroy the Post Office. | | | A new Board of Governors can set a new direction for the post office, and we can ensure this happens by demanding President Biden immediately appoint members to fill the Board's three vacancies, and call on the Board to save the Postal Service by removing DeJoy now. And we must join Rep. Pascrell's call on President Biden to fire the board members who installed and supported DeJoy for dereliction of duty. SIGN NOW: Fire Louis DeJoy and his bosses immediately! Every day DeJoy remains in power is another day he can do lasting harm to a critical piece of American infrastructure. He's got to go, and so do all of his enablers. Thanks, Mike Phelan Progress America |
