Today I am asking you to make a contribution before I take the stage at tomorrow's Democratic presidential debate — but only if you can afford to.

As you know, this campaign is made possible by more than 1 million people giving small donations. A lot of those donations come from young people and working people.

Our campaign recognizes that some can do more than others when it comes to financially supporting this campaign. And the truth is that we ask often because these emails account for the majority of our campaign's fundraising.

So whether you give $27 or $2.70 — or perhaps give on behalf of someone else who cannot afford a donation today — know that your contribution makes an incredible difference for the success of our campaign.
