A meal means so much more to a soldier.
With new deployments underway this Easter season, many service members are spending the holiday in harm’s way, separated from their loved ones. Your show of support in this moment is more meaningful than ever.
For forward deployed troops, there’s no grocery store or restaurant nearby. One soldier shared he was in a desert so remote, all he ate for a month straight were MREs. For him, any meal not from a package was a luxury.
As global tensions escalate around the world, our troops are being deployed at a moment’s notice to remote locations. As service members are moving constantly to address changing mission needs, access to fresh ingredients is limited.
A warm meal far from home means everything.

“The first hot meal these guys had was from the USO,” said one Sgt. Major, whose team was deployed to eastern Europe. “They bought all the batter in town, serving 3,000 pancakes. (The service members) had a hot pancake breakfast from the USO even before they took a shower.”

As more troops are deployed due to shifting mission needs, we’re seeing an increased need for meals and other support for our soldiers. The USO has set a goal to provide 5,000 Easter meals and other essential programs and services for our soldiers.
