We've got some updates and a glimmer of hope for you today, Pamela.
Last night, the Republican reconciliation budget bill advanced out of the Budget Committee and will likely head to a House vote later this week.
Here's what we know: As Republican leadership pushes forward, they're promising the most extreme wing of their party even worse cuts to Medicaid and our clean energy progress as a last-minute amendment when this bill comes to a floor vote.
As a result, their moderates are splintering even more. So, we need to keep fighting to make sure those moderates hear us and hold the line.
It all boils down to this: Our pressure is working. Our calls to protect American families and workers -- to protect our climate and clean energy progress -- are working. And some House Republicans have urged leadership to save clean energy investments for their constituents.
But our fight isn't over yet. We know Republican leadership is fighting tooth and nail to repeal our progress and deliver huge tax cuts for billionaires. We have to keep up the pressure and fight even harder to make sure our representatives vote no.
If you haven't already, please make your voice heard by calling your representative today and telling them to protect our clean energy investments.
Already called? You can call again. And, you can forward this message to your friends, family, and neighbors urging them to do the same.
Thanks for making your voice heard,
Climate Power
Public pressure is a valuable tool, and Climate Power is mobilizing voters in key districts to persuade their representaitves to say NO to climate cuts. Our campaign is working, but we need your support to keep up the pressure. Will you chip in? |
