Pamela,
During the 2024 election, Trump and other Republicans said they would raise taxes on the rich. But surprise surprise, when it was time to literally put their money where their mouths are, they flopped. In their "big beautiful bill" they're cutting taxes for millionaires, not raising them.
And who will make up the shortfall now that the rich won't be taxed? The everyday, non-millionaire American. But tides are changing, and now 70% of Republicans want higher taxes on the ultra rich, not just Democrats.
We have a real chance now to tell Congress to tax the rich and be in line with millions of Americans. Tell your Congressperson to raise taxes on the rich.
Decades of tax cuts have put us in a position where wealth inequality is at an all time high. This inequality is threatening the stability of our country – and democracy. Whenever taxes are cut, it leaves people behind, and leaves them behind for decades.
But we have an opportunity to do something about it, [Firstname/friend]. We have the opportunity to tell Congress right now to stop the latest round of tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy. We're at a critical moment where we can change the course our nation is on and that's only if you tell your congressperson to tax the rich.
Thank you,
Mike Phelan
