Dear Pamela,
Yesterday, the Trump Administration took the outrageous step of suing four states that are working to hold Big Oil accountable: Vermont, New York, Hawaii, and Michigan. It's the administration's latest attempt to protect their Big Oil donors from accountability.
- Hawaii responded by immediately filing their lawsuit against Big Oil for climate damages, like the horrific fires in Lahaina in 2023.
- Michigan's Attorney General Dana Nessel said, "Donald Trump has made clear he will answer any and every beck and call from his Big Oil campaign donors…I remain undeterred in my intention to file this lawsuit the President and his Big Oil donors so fear."
- Vermont and New York have both said they'll fight the Trump Administration's lawsuit in court and defend their right to protect their citizens from paying all the costs of Big Oil's lies.
When we started the
Make Polluters Pay campaign we knew that we'd found a powerful strategy to go after Big Oil. Now, we're seeing just how scared the industry is of our movement.
Can you help us grow this movement by forwarding this email to your friends and family and encouraging them to join our efforts?
We're now a community of more than 250,000 people who are ready to stand up to Big Oil and Make Polluters Pay for the damage they've done, but we need to be even bigger if we're going to take on the most powerful industry on the planet.
Your support makes all the difference. Thank you for taking action!
Warmly,
Cass, Fossil Free Media
