Pamela – Medicaid saves lives. Over 70 million Americans receive it, and in fact, it saves more lives in Republican districts than in Democratic districts. Then why do Republicans want to cut it? Oh yeah, because it would save trillions of dollars for the ultra rich.
The Center on Budget and Policy shows that Medicaid expansion saved the lives of 19,200 older Americans from 2014-2017, compared to the death rates from the preceding six-year period. It's clear that Republicans don't care about their constituents; they would rather cut these vital services so billionaires could save a few bucks.
Right now, we're seeing Republicans enact a gigantic transfer of wealth from the neediest — the elderly, the sick, the poor — to the ultra-rich. We don't need to tell you, Pamela, but that's bad. Tell your Congressperson that Medicaid needs to be saved:
Republicans are in the process of slashing $880 billion from Medicaid. And where will that money go? Right into the hands of billionaires like Trump, Musk and their buddies. Without that essential funding, people will die.
Without access to Medicaid, people won't be able to have regular check-ups, receive early-stage cancer diagnoses, and fill critical prescriptions for heart disease and diabetes. Simply put, the basic services save lives. And without them, people across the country will die.
Republicans are in the process of dismantling our country, right by right. They're trying to steal absolutely everything that's not nailed down, including critical health coverage. This is't a game, this is life and death.
That's why we need you to tell your members of Congress to save Medicaid to save the lives of Americans around the country.
