No miracle solutions. Just us, Pamela

Democracy is a muscle. Here's how you can strengthen it before Election Day.
‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌ ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌

Pamela: Less than three weeks remain until Election Day. Already, over 2 million mail-in and early in-person ballots have been cast, and over 16 million have been requested. Voters are already making their voices heard, and the sense of urgency is undeniable.

I've said this before: There's no cavalry coming. No miracle solution. No saviors. Pamela, it's on each of us to do the work. We need to be the ones to reject the anti-democracy agenda at the ballot box this election year.

You and I must — we must — be those voices that ensure decency and grace prevail over extremism and fury. We are the cavalry. The responsibility is ours.

I need to ask directly, Pamela: In this critical moment before the election, can you make a donation to help counter threats to fair elections and power the fight for a more representative democracy?

Democracy, much like a muscle, requires consistent exercise to thrive. In order to protect democracy, we have to do democracy. If we're serious about making this country a better, fairer place, then it's not enough for each of us to merely cast our own vote. We must put in the work that ensures every citizen has the right to vote in free and fair elections.

If you care about a woman's right to choose, if you care about climate change, if you care about voter suppression, if you care about criminal justice reform, all of these things are connected to who serves in elected offices at the state and national levels. It's essential that those officials are elected in a system that's fair — one in which voters can select their leaders, and not the other way around.

We know that MAGA extremists are coming after the right to vote, and we know they're already in power in some legislatures and courts. Now is the time to fight back.

Vote, turn others out to vote, and make a grassroots contribution to All On The Line to support our organizing work now and after Election Day.

Thank you,

Eric H. Holder, Jr.
82nd Attorney General of the United States
