Connor Spence was the founding Secretary-Treasurer of the Amazon Labor Union. His organizing played a crucial role in securing ALU's victory at the warehouse on Staten Island. But in right before the holidays last year, Amazon illegally fired Connor during a wave of union busting. The firing came just after Connor led a walkout to protest unfair wages. Connor is appealing the firing, and he'll almost certainly win. But Amazon's million-dollar lawyers can drag the process out, leaving Connor without income in the meantime. Connor's co-workers started a GoFundMe to help Connor make rent while Amazon's lawyers delay. Can you make a donation to help Connor pay the bills since his illegal firing? Connor has dedicated the last three years of his life to fighting for unionization at Amazon at JFK8 and other warehouses across the country. Connor played an important role in the JFK8 union campaign victory, the formation of the ALU, served on the executive board as VP/Secretary Treasurer, played a lead role in the legal aspect filing charges for workers, court proceedings against Amazon, educating workers about their NLRA rights, and helping workers get their jobs back. Connor has fought for workers. Now it's up to us to keep him going. Amazon Labor Union can't collect dues until it wins a first contract, and Amazon's campaign of illegal firings and other delay tactics are designed to bleed the organizers dry with legal fees and personal hardship.
