| Pamela, Before the expanded, refundable Child Tax Credit passed as part of the American Rescue Plan, supporters claimed that it would cut child poverty in half. Here's the amazing thing: It came true. We cut child poverty in half… …And then we stopped. The Child Tax Credit wasn't renewed as intended when the Inflation Reduction Act passed, and as a result, it expired in 2022. And guess what? Child poverty is headed back up. Tell Congress: Restore the expanded Child Tax Credit and cut child poverty in half again! Powerful corporate CEOs are trying to lock in corporate tax breaks before Republicans take control of the House of Representatives. But instead of more corporate giveaways that only line the pockets of fat cats, Congress should do something that actually helps people: Restore the Child Tax Credit! Sign if you agree: Corporations shouldn't get any special tax breaks while families are left behind! Thanks, Mike Phelan Progress America |
