Want my favorite T-shirt (now available in youth sizes!)?

That's why I've teamed up with MoveOn to offer something special: a "Read Banned Books" T-shirt. And now, they're available in youth sizes!

Hi, MoveOn member!

LeVar Burton here. For more than 20 years, I shared my love for reading with you on "Reading Rainbow."

But today, more than ever before, that magic we took for granted in our childhoods—the simple right to get a book from the local library and read it—is threatened by book bans and censorship.

That's why I've teamed up with MoveOn to offer something special: a "Read Banned Books" T-shirt. And now, they're available in youth sizes!

You—and the young readers in your life—will love this shirt. But you don't have to take my word for it!

Wearing this shirt is more than a fashion statement: It's a declaration of our right to explore the world and learn—starting at an early age—that through reading and imagination, each one of us can reach for our dreams.

It's about ensuring that we are exposed to a wide variety of experiences, points of view, and worldviews.

Wearing a "Read Banned Books" shirt sends a message that each one of us—no matter who we are, where we come from, or what our race, background, or identity is—has a story to tell.

I've been proud to partner with MoveOn in the fight against censorship and book bans.

I worked with my friends at MoveOn—and 175 artists, including Judy Blume, Ariana Grande, Roxane Gay, and Amanda Gorman—to launch a huge Artists Against Book Bans letter.1

MoveOn launched a nationwide Banned Bookmobile tour through more than a dozen states last year, handing out thousands of banned books—for free—and energizing voters.2

And nearly 500,000 MoveOn members from across the country have signed our petition calling for an end to book bans.3

Another great way for each of us to join the fight against book bans is to get a special-edition "Read Banned Books" T-shirt and wear it with pride. Now you can also get them in youth sizes to share with the young people in your life, so they can join you in the effort!

Getting your shirt from MoveOn is a great way to support this work. Unlike at Amazon and other corporate retailers with harmful business practices, when you get these U.S.-made, union-printed shirts from MoveOn, your money will go directly toward fighting book bans and building a more inclusive country where everyone can thrive.

With hope and determination,
LeVar Burton

P.S. "Reading Rainbow" was more than just a TV show; it was a gateway to new worlds, ideas, and inspirations—reflecting the colorful tapestry of cultures and possibilities that the world has to offer. And now, I'm proud to announce that the documentary about "Reading Rainbow," "Butterfly in the Sky," which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, is available on demand! Want to support MoveOn's work? Book bans have skyrocketed thanks to right-wing state laws which have forced teachers to remove books from their classrooms. In response, MoveOn is launching a "Banned Bookmobile," filling it with books that the far right has banned, and driving it around to hand out those books, for free, in highly trafficked areas that will attract media attention. To keep the Banned Bookmobile up and running into 2024, we need your help.

Will you chip in to power our critical work?
