Right now the whole world is watching as the devastating violence unfolding in Israel and Palestine escalates. We cannot sit by and allow further destruction of human life. We are launching a Day of Action TODAY to call on President Biden to broker a ceasefire to stop further loss of Palestinian and Israeli lives—and we need you to send a message to your representative.
Eighteen members of Congress, all Democrats, have sponsored a congressional resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire.
We urgently need to get more representatives to join the ceasefire call in order to move U.S. policy—including Rep. Raskin, who is not yet a sponsor.
Send an email to Rep. Raskin asking him to back a ceasefire.
There is a humanitarian crisis happening in Gaza, where more than 2 million Palestinians—half of whom are children—have had their access to food, water, electricity, medical care, and humanitarian aid under near total blockade for weeks. The reported death toll has risen to nearly 8,800 Palestinians—including thousands of children—following the killing of 1,400 Israelis and hundreds more taken hostage.1
We cannot sit by and allow further destruction of human life. We must focus on protecting innocent, civilian lives at stake by calling for an immediate ceasefire and de-escalation of violence.
That's why MoveOn members are part of a Day of Action today in support of an immediate ceasefire.
For decades, MoveOn members have taken a principled position against war and have shown us that, when we use our voices collectively, we can win a just solution grounded in human dignity.
Millions of lives are at stake. We must build on our collective humanity and call for a ceasefire today.
