A new low for the GOP

The GOP candidate, Jim Lamon, isn't the first Republican to prominently feature political violence in a TV ad.

Dear MoveOn member,

In a Super Bowl TV ad, an Arizona Republican Senate candidate portrayed himself shooting President Joe Biden, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and Democratic Senator Mark Kelly, whose wife, former Representative Gabby Giffords, was shot in the head and critically injured in an assassination attempt more than a decade ago.1

Disgusting.

Sen. Mark Kelly, one of the GOP's top targets in this year's mid-term elections, is a strong advocate of gun control, and it's clear some Republicans are willing to resort to violence to take him down.

That's exactly why MoveOn is launching a rapid-response fundraising effort to defend Sen. Kelly, keep Arizona blue in 2022, and stop the violent GOP.

Will you join us by rushing a $3 donation right now? Your donation will be split between Mark Kelly's reelection campaign and MoveOn's work to defeat right-wing extremists at the ballot box this November.

The GOP candidate, Jim Lamon, isn't the first Republican to prominently feature political violence in a TV ad.

In a recent TV ad, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene complained that Nancy Pelosi is "sneaking the Green New Deal into the $3.5 trillion budget" and uses a massive .50-caliber sniper rifle to blow up a Toyota Prius with the word "socialism" emblazoned across it.2

And just months ago, GOP Representative Paul Gosar shared on his official congressional social media accounts an animated video depicting him killing Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and swinging two swords at President Biden.3

The GOP's sick embrace of white supremacism and violence makes it an illegitimate political party. They simply have no business being in elected office.

Respond to the GOP's attacks by ensuring Sen. Kelly has the financial resources he needs to defeat the violent, extremist GOP.

Thanks for all you do.

Donald Trump and his allies are methodically enacting a plan to place some of Trump's most ardent supporters in key election offices that oversee vote counting, have the power to certify—or decertify—election results, and declare election winners and losers. We've launched a powerful, multimillion-dollar campaign to stop Trump. But we need your help to power our effort.

Will you chip in to power our campaign to defeat Trump and the GOP in 2022?
