Women's Marchers know that passing the American Rescue Plan, the Biden-Harris Administration's COVID-relief bill, needs to be our number one priority. But here's what else we know, Pamela: Women have borne the brunt of this pandemic, and represent two-thirds of workers earning the minimum wage in this country. That's why the final bill MUST include a national minimum wage increase to $15 an hour. Women — disproportionately women of color — make up so many of the essential workers who have kept our country going throughout this yearlong crisis, and it's time for us to be compensated for that tireless, crucial, and heroic work. Congress is now faced with a historic opportunity to do exactly that, but it'll take all of us contacting our senators to demand they pass the complete package which includes raising the national minimum wage to $15 an hour. Sign our petition now to urge your senators to support a $15 an hour minimum wage for workers nationwide in the upcoming COVID relief package. A $15 minimum wage *IS* COVID relief, and it will take all of us speaking out to get this done. This latest round of COVID relief is long overdue, and it's absolutely crucial that Congress pass this bill without delay. But we have to let our senators know that we won't settle for anything less than a minimum wage increase to $15 an hour for women and essential workers across our country. It is time for women to be compensated for the work we've been doing to keep our country moving forward over this unprecedented year. That's why we're asking every person who reads this to sign on and show their support. Tell your senators: It's time to raise the national minimum wage to $15 an hour. Thank you for speaking up and showing up for women, Women's March |
