RE: President Trump

I’m emailing you for the first time in this election, asking for $1 to elect a Democratic House to stop this President. The country is still reeling from President Trump’s disastrous overseas trip, and I want to share with you my thoughts about the stakes for this fall. Earlier this month, I watched with my mouth agape as Donald Trump stood on stage with Vladimir Putin and said he believed Putin that Russia did not try to interfere in the 2O16 election. Here’s the truth: 1. The Russian government attacked our elections in 2O16 with the intent of trying to elect Trump. Full stop. Everyone, from the intelligence community to the U.S. Senate, agrees. 2. Russia plans on attacking our elections in 2O18. 3. This Republican Congress has NO PLANS to stop this from happening, OR to hold this President accountable. I’m emailing today because winning a Democratic House isn’t just a priority, it’s a necessity to stop this President from tearing apart our democracy. The DCCC’s End of Month Deadline is critically important, and they need 28,412 more Democrats on board. I can’t overstate the urgency. Will you send in $1? And all we have left is a question that should terrify every American, and that is the question of why? Why would Donald Trump take the side of Vladimir Putin over his intelligence agencies? Why would Donald Trump refuse to act to protect our elections here at home? Why is Donald Trump so friendly to Russian national security interests, while so hostile to our own? This country can survive a lot, but Trump is making us a laughing stock around the world. We used to be a pillar of global strength, but now, thanks to Trump, if you are a despot or an authoritarian tyrant and get into a room with the President of the United States he will give you whatever you want. I couldn’t be sadder or angrier about it.  But I’m not about to sit back and do nothing -- and that’s why I need you with me. It’s never been clearer to me that we badly need a Democratic Congress to stop this President. My friends at the DCCC face their End of Month Deadline in just 72 hours, and I need you to take a stand. Will you rush in $1 right now to join me in this fight?
