$1.5 TRILLION for weapons and war. That's Trump's budget — and he wants your tax dollars to pay for it, Pamela.
Earlier this week, Trump said the U.S. government shouldn't pay for child or health care because he needs all the money he can to finance his reckless wars.[1] He'll go even further to deprioritize people's needs if Congress passes this dangerous budget.
It's the largest single-year increase in Pentagon spending in decades. To make it happen, Trump's also calling for a 10% CUT in non-defense discretionary funding — things like education, public health, scientific research, national parks, and more. And that's all before you add in an additional $200 BILLION he'll reportedly ask for to further his illegal, deeply unpopular war on Iran.
Lawmakers are deciding how they'll negotiate or push back on this budget proposal now. We know they're already hearing from a lot of people: special interests, the White House, the weapons lobby and more. Pamela, let's drown out their cries for war funding with a push for peace:
Tell Congress to reject this dangerous budget and invest in communities, not weapons and war.
| ACT NOW |
A $1.5 TRILLION Pentagon topline would be outrageous in any year, but as Pete Hegseth's Pentagon continues to murder people in the Pacific and violence rages across the Middle East, it's flat-out dangerous.
Right now, hundreds of hospitals across the country are on life support as a result of Medicaid cuts to finance Trump's cruel deportation machine.
Untold numbers of people across the United States already reeling from cuts to food assistance, childcare, and rental assistance are staring down skyrocketing energy costs resulting from his reckless war on Iran.
Trump calls this struggle 'a true investment in your children and your grandchildren's future.'[2] We call it the most dangerous Pentagon budget in decades.
Pamela, budgets are moral documents that reveal what we prioritize and value. Trump's budget would push spending on weapons and war to unprecedented levels to absorb the costs of unauthorized violence — in Iran, Nigeria, Yemen, across Latin America, and elsewhere — into long-term spending.
Bankrolling Trump's violence-first authoritarianism won't make anyone safer. If allowed to pass, the consequences of Trump's budget will be felt for generations. That's why our marathon effort to block it starts today.
Tell Congress: Not on our watch.
Thank you for working for peace,
