| It starts with the final free and fair election. Then, the rules begin to change.
Executive authority expands. Legislatures and courts are pressured or sidelined as democratic guardrails weaken.
Experts are fired, agencies are dismantled, and public trust collapses. Loyalists replace public servants, shifting allegiance from the Constitution to one individual.
The media is attacked. Propaganda replaces the truth. Scapegoats are chosen – immigrants, workers, anyone deemed "different" – and division becomes the strategy.
Speaking out feels risky. And eventually, people stop voting – not because they don't care, but because they're exhausted and convinced it won't matter. |
