National Guard troops: “This is just not what any of us signed up for”

Our message is resonating with the servicemembers that Trump is weaponizing. ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏  ‌͏

Members of the National Guard are asking an urgent question in response to Trump's orders deploying them to U.S. cities[1]: "'who's going to stand up to this?'"

We are, Pamela. Our groundbreaking Know-Your-Rights campaign is connecting servicemembers to resources if they're given illegal or unethical orders. As the Pentagon vows "a constant, enduring, and long-term presence" in cities like Los Angeles, Portland, Chicago, and beyond, our work is cut out for us.[2] You can help us take this effort to the next level by donating below:

"This is just not what any of us signed up for, and it's so out of the scope of normal operations," one member of the Ohio National Guard recently told NPR.[1]

It's not easy to follow your conscience or stand up against injustice. That's why ever since Trump began his "war from within," we have been connecting National Guard troops with information and resources through a series of eye-catching billboards. Thanks to your donations, we've expanded the campaign to six cities.

The impact so far has been profound: Tens of thousands of people have visited our resource page. Our billboards have been covered by national press and military outlets alike, and as litigation continues and the White House issues new orders, the need is only growing.

Our message is clearly resonating with the servicemembers being weaponized to serve Trump's authoritarian rule, so we need to go further and move faster to be there for more of them with answers.

Thank you for working for peace,
The Win Without War team

P.S. As we resist Trump's authoritarianism at home and abroad, we're excited to share a free opportunity for you to learn how to take your advocacy even further. Our partners at the Project On Government Oversight are hosting a virtual training on writing letters to the editor tomorrow, Wednesday, November 19, at 7:00 PM ET. Space is limited, so RSVP to secure your spot today!
