In this country, we don't have kings or wannabe dictators.

National Guard troops roaming the streets of U.S. cities. Masked ICE agents conducting military-style raids against families, terrorizing communities. Unauthorized drone strikes targeting boats in the Caribbean.

Pamela, Trump's brand of authoritarianism has a cruel, violent streak that we're seeing manifest both at home and abroad.

His actions are those of a dictator. A wannabe king. But no matter how hard he tries to tear it down, Trump STILL can't change the fact that we live in a democracy — and that means the power rests with the people.

On June 14, the last No Kings Day protest, we pushed back against the dangerous idea that strength comes from troops, tanks, or fighter jets and ruined Trump's birthday party parade.

This time around, we need to get louder, and that's why we're working to ensure as many people as possible reject Trump's authoritarianism on October 18. Unless we show the world that the people across the country reject the future Trump's building, he will take our silence as permission. The simple truth is that the situation won't change if organizations like ours, and people like you, stay on the sidelines. So join us, however and wherever you're able.
