It may seem like the 2026 midterm elections are still a long way off, but we know that one of the key factors that will determine whether we win or lose next year is building a massive, energized, and people-powered coalition that can lead the charge to organize and turn out voters in the most important swing districts around the country. MoveOn is determined to usher in a historic blue wave next year that puts a real check on Donald Trump's cruel, despicable policies, which is why we are investing early in building the organizing power of MoveOn members to have the biggest impact next year. TELLING VOTERS WE WON'T BACK DOWN In August, MoveOn kicked off our Won't Back Down tour, hosting huge rallies in swing districts to encourage voters to come together, build community, and support elected Democrats who are doing real work to fight back against the Trump administration. After an energizing start in Phoenix, we headed to Omaha, to the heart of Republican Don Bacon's congressional district. The district, NE-2, is one of the most closely divided in the country, and Bacon has announced that he will not be running for reelection, making it one of the most competitive districts in 2026. To energize the voters we will need to flip in the midterms, we brought two powerhouse progressive leaders, Representative Maxwell Frost and Senator Elizabeth Warren, to speak to the crowd—and boy did they fire up the audience! The 1,100-member crowd was packed in to hear them speak! This tour was made possible because of contributions from MoveOn donors like you, Andra. And thanks to your incredible generosity, we're expanding the tour later this fall! SHARING PERSONAL MESSAGES WITH VOTERS While our rallies are an important part of our work to reach voters, we can't stop there. That's why MoveOn launched our first major voter outreach campaign of the 2026 election cycle! Research shows that personal outreach from volunteers sharing their own stories can be incredibly effective in persuading voters and getting them to turn out in elections. Voters have learned to tune out traditional and formulaic political ads. Consequently, hearing one person's perspective on why this election is important to them and how they have been impacted by Trump's policies can really break through the noise. To help kickstart this work, MoveOn launched our volunteer-led postcard parties in August, where volunteers held small events in their local communities to handwrite tens of thousands of postcards to voters in swing districts—and they were a huge success! In total, 196 parties were planned in states across the country, and volunteers were able to write 30,000 postcards to swing-district voters! Take a look at some photos from a few of the events: Your donations paid to print every single postcard and provide the thousands of dollars in postage needed to get them in the mail. We are so grateful for your support. These rallies and events are only the beginning. Later this month, MoveOn's team is meeting to build out our 2026 election strategy, and over the coming months, we will be hosting more events, sending out thousands more postcards, running ads, knocking on doors, and doing so much more to ensure that we achieve a historic blue wave in 2026.
