Kids and educators are settling into a new school year, celebrating milestones, picking out outfits, and gathering school supplies. Sadly, many immigrant families are facing a very different reality as they worry about ICE in our schools and classrooms. Schools should be safe havens where every child can learn and thrive, regardless of immigration status. As parents, caregivers, educators, and allies, we have a responsibility to make sure our classrooms are welcoming and free from fear. That's why we're coming together this Thursday at 5 PM ET for a virtual community call with Community Change, American Federation of Teachers, National Education Association, and National Domestic Workers Alliance. Together, we'll share strategies for defending our schools from ICE and hear from those on the front lines protecting students.
