And his ally at the FCC, Brendan Carr, was already moving to silence people like Jimmy Kimmel. While ABC may have ended Kimmel’s suspension, let’s be clear: this fight is far from over. Trump won’t stop there. He’s already gone after universities, businesses, and law firms that he doesn’t consider loyal enough. Anyone who speaks out could be next. That’s not how democracy works. That’s how dictators operate. Trump is launching a direct attack on the First Amendment. He’s threatening to take away perhaps the most basic American freedom: the right to free speech.
