IRS and ICE shouldn’t work together

This is dangerous.

Pamela – ICE is taking over our country. Congress just passed a bill to give ICE a bigger budget than the U.S. Marines―and they're cutting Medicaid by a trillion dollars to pay for it. ICE is worming its way into every facet of our lives. Instead of chasing down criminals, they're in Home Depot parking lots and on farms. Now, the Trump administration has given them new, less visible tools to attack his enemies: ICE just reached an agreement with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to share tax information about undocumented immigrants. For years, the IRS assured undocumented taxpayers that their information is confidential. But now, they've gone back on their word. Send a message to your members of Congress today to force the IRS to keep its promise to not collaborate with ICE. Congress → Stop the IRS from working with ICE We've all seen the horrifying footage of ICE arresting union presidents, U.S. Senators and New York City mayoral candidates. And now, for the first time, they'll have unfettered access to sensitive financial data to hunt down their targets. If ICE gets its way, it will drive undocumented communities further into the shadows and discourage people from paying taxes they owe. And that will add billions of dollars to the tax burden of citizens like you and me. The only people benefitting from this dangerous new policy are the exploitative businesses who hire immigrants to skirt labor laws. With this data, ICE will be able to track their targets, many of whom seem to be Trump's political enemies. Congress can step in and do the right thing by putting a stop to this practice right now. Tell your members of Congress now to block the dangerous collaboration between the IRS and ICE today.
