Pamela, it's horrifyingly clear that Trump wants to rule by force, rather than serve the people.
As we speak, the Trump administration is inflaming tensions in the Los Angeles area and putting the final touches on a massive tank parade in DC that is little more than a gross celebration of himself.
Unfortunately for Trump, we're RSVPing "no" to his birthday party — because we've got a better plan. This weekend, from cities to small towns, from courthouse steps to community parks, we'll REJECT Trump's authoritarianism. Instead, we'll send him an undeniable message that despite his 24/7 effort to tear it down, he STILL can't change the fact that we live in a democracy.
Right now, more than 2,000 rallies — peaceful, organized, and united — are planned across the country to remind Trump and his enablers that there are NO KINGS in the United States. Are you in?
Every day since January 20 has been filled with chaos and confusion. Right now, from coast to coast, the Trump administration is cracking down on free speech, arresting, detaining, and deporting people without due process, and defying the courts. Our cities — our capitol — are more than a prop in Trump's relentless power grab.
Whether you're outraged by attacks on our civil rights, skyrocketing costs our families are facing, abductions and disappearances of our community members, or the gutting of essential services, or the assault on free speech — Pamela, this moment is for you.
Together, we'll make June 14 about more than the massive misuse of resources necessary to send tanks down Pennsylvania Avenue or deploy U.S. Marines to crush peaceful protests.
Together, we'll push back against the dangerous idea that strength comes from troops, tanks or fighter jets.
Together, we'll resist Trump's abuses of power, cruelty, and corruption and work instead to build a future where we all live and thrive in a more peaceful world.
We can't promise that we can stop the hostile attack on our values and gutting of our government fast enough to avoid the harm. What can we guarantee? The situation won't change if organizations like ours, and people like you, sit on the sidelines.
Don't forget: Even a president can't do his worst if champions in Congress, movement partners, and people like us show up in opposition and support for one another. All NO KINGS events adhere to a shared commitment to nonviolent protest and community safety. We hope to see you out there this weekend.
Thank you for working for peace,
The Win Without War team
