Hi Pamela, we're America. And we need your help.
Donald Trump & Co. rammed their Big Beautiful Bill through the House, slashing $723 billion from Medicaid. And the version that the Senate is considering this week cuts even deeper.
That's healthcare for 13.7 million Americans—seniors, people with disabilities, kids, and working families.
Trump & co couldn't be telling us any clearer:
#GoFundYourself! So here we are. Literally crowdfunding our own healthcare. Because in the richest country in the world, survival now depends on clicks, luck, and making your cancer diagnosis go viral.
So we've set up a GoFundMe page, and we're trying to raise the first $1 billion to cover people's healthcare. And then we'll just need to do that 723 more times to make up for Trump's cuts.
Is this hard? Well, we would need to fund a $1 billion GoFundMe page twice a day for an entire year. But that seems a lot better than letting 51,000 folks a year die from having their health care ripped away.
But wait—it gets worse.
Trump & Co. didn't commit this heist to balance the budget. They didn't do it to save money. In fact, their Big Beautiful Bill will add almost $4 Trillion to the deficit.
That's right: They are stealing $723 Billion from sick Americans and will still put $3.94 Trillion on the national credit card. In fact, this bill adds so much to the deficit that it would trigger an automatic $500 billion cut to Medicare, on top of the $723 billion from Medicaid!
Where Trump is redirecting our Medicaid money:
-
Tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires
-
Pharmaceutical CEOs who charge $300 for insulin that costs only $3 to make
-
Deportation camps ($45 billion)
-
CEOs whose compensation packages could literally fund entire hospital systems (the kind of people who own yachts with smaller yachts inside)
Winners & Losers:
-
Your insulin: GONE
-
Annual check-ups for your kid (and 7.5 million other kids) : GONE
-
Your local emergency room (especially if you're near one of the 190 mostly rural hospitals that depend on Medicaid funding to keep their doors open): GONE
-
Billionaire tax cuts: FUNDED
But these are all sacrifices they're willing for us to make.
While we have to crowdfund mom's chemotherapy, they're getting a tax break to buy a second yacht.
So, until we build a system that treats healthcare as a human right — as does every other advanced nation with people who have bodies that sometimes get sick (and prefer not to die) — we're being forced to follow Trump's advice: #GoFundYourself!
Every dollar helps. Though now, thanks to Trump's Big Beautiful Bill, we'll need about 723 billion more of them.
Let's work together to make healthcare a human right! — And until then, let's help Americans struggling with medical debt. If you don't already have your own medical GoFundMe, chip in today!
Let's be real: We don't expect to raise $723 billion. And we shouldn't have to.The government should be funding essential healthcare—not GoFundMe.
In the meantime, every dollar donated on this page will go directly to Undue Medical Debt—an organization that buys and cancels people's medical debt for pennies on the dollar.
So donate if you can. Please share your donations widely with the #GoFundYourself! hashtag. And speak out as if your life depended on it—because thanks to Donald's Death Panels, it literally does.
Love,
