The House-passed Continuing Resolution (CR) isn't about keeping the government running, Pamela — it's about ramming through Trump's MAGA agenda that would tear families apart and dismantle our government.
Speaker Johnson says it's a "clean" bill, but the details, which include $1.5 billion for a warship[1] that no one in the Navy asked for and $200 billion more to 'turbocharge' Trump's deportation machine[2], reveal it's anything but business as usual.
If this CR reaches the President's desk, it'll do one thing: Embolden a MAGA regime deadset on undermining our democracy. The Senate must reject this bad bill and stop writing Trump blank checks immediately.
We're hearing Senate Democrats are gearing up to filibuster and oppose this bill to say ENOUGH, but we know this vote will be close and likely come down to the wire. That's why they need to hear from you NOW.
By speaking out, you can help steel the resolve that can push champions in Congress to hold the line — and send our opponents a loud and clear message that we refuse to allow Trump and Musk to trample over our rights or misuse our resources.

We caught a glimpse of the world Trump and Musk are building when Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arrested Mahmoud Khalil this weekend. Despite his legal resident status as a green card holder and constitutional rights as a person in the United States, Khalil was arrested for using his free speech.
Neither his wife — who is eight months pregnant — nor his attorney were informed of where he was taken. Neither was able to speak with him in the immediate days following his arrest. He is currently detained to await an uncertain fate at the Central Louisiana ICE Processing Center, where the ACLU has recently documented cruel and inhumane treatment.[3]
The House-passed CR would funnel up to hundreds of BILLIONS more dollars into a machine that allows for abductions exactly like Khalil's, threatening families, weakening our economy, and ignoring the real issues people across the country face.
Budgets are moral documents, Pamela. Trump and Speaker Johnson would hold the government hostage to push us to accept the further militarization of our communities, government raids, and kids in cages.
But today, we get to demand something different and draw a line in the sand: A vote for this CR is a vote for Trump and Musk's assault on our democracy and our communities.
Pamela, after barely two months of Trump and Musk's assault on our government, many are despairing and fatigued — but the stakes are only getting higher.
That's why we have to keep pushing. Each and every time we pressure our members of Congress, we're showing up for our values. But that's not all – we're also holding our elected officials accountable and reminding them we're watching while ALSO giving them the political space they need to be bold and build the safer, more sustainable future we all want and deserve.
Thank you for working for peace,
